DETECTION OVERVIEW
Risk Factors
Creating an archive file is a common way for attackers to exfiltrate large amounts of data while minimizing file size. Anyone can make an archive file with built-in system tools. After valuable data is successfully transferred out of the network, there can be significant negative effects on the reputation and revenue of an organization.
Category

Quarantine the device while checking for indicators of compromise, such as malware
Configure firewalls to block outbound traffic to suspicious external hosts
Implement network segmentation, security zones, and firewall policies that limit how devices can communicate
Network analysis and visibility solutions remain underrepresented in enterprises. Find out why in this preview of a new Wave report.
