DETECTION OVERVIEW
Risk Factors
Enumeration is a simple but important step taken by attackers after an initial compromise. Attack tools make enumeration relatively easy to perform. Enumeration activity typically does not negatively affect performance, but attackers can leverage this information to find new targets in an attack campaign.
The system might change the risk score for this detection.

After infiltrating an environment, an attacker might collect information about a domain for additional attacks. Submitting an LDAP query to an Active Directory (AD) server can help an attacker learn about group policy objects in a specific domain and understand how the domain is configured.
Limit access to sensitive group policies to reduce the information users can enumerate through scans and tools such as Bloodhound
Because securing LDAP servers can be difficult without compromising functionality, monitor and investigate unusual LDAP activity quickly to minimize potential damage
Network analysis and visibility solutions remain underrepresented in enterprises. Find out why in this preview of a new Wave report.

This analysis exposes the critical link between an organization's lack of internal visibility and the escalating cost of compromise, demanding an urgent re-evaluation of how core business assets are protected.
