DETECTION OVERVIEW
Category

An application or device had an excessive number of responses with the HTTP 500 status code, which indicates that a server encountered an internal error that prevented the server from fulfilling a valid request from a client.
HTTP is a communication protocol that enables users to deliver data over the internet. A spike in HTTP 500-level (Server Error) responses indicates that a server is receiving valid HTTP requests but cannot process them. This issue might be related to application logic bugs, backend database connectivity, or server resource exhaustion.
Check web server and application logs for issues related to internal server errors.
Check for recent code deployments, configuration changes, or backend service updates that might cause internal server errors.
Verify the health and responsiveness of backend databases, APIs, or authentication services that web servers depend on.
Monitor web servers for high CPU usage, memory exhaustion, or thread pool saturation that prevents the application from processing requests.
Network analysis and visibility solutions remain underrepresented in enterprises. Find out why in this preview of a new Wave report.
