You Can Bring ExtraHope to Girls Who Code

Michael Clark

November 28, 2023

It’s Giving Tuesday, which means people around the world are celebrating the incredible power of generosity. In the spirit of the giving season, ExtraHop is thrilled to announce that we’re continuing our “ExtraHope” donation program for the second year in a row in support of Girls Who Code.

From now until January 31, 2024, ExtraHop will donate $5 for every like, comment on, or share this post. All we ask you to do is like, comment, or share our post on LinkedIn or this post on X, and we will make a $5 donation for every one of those interactions, up to $10,000. The more likes this post gets on social media, the more we can support Girls Who Code and the creation of a vital talent pipeline for the global cybersecurity industry. So head on over to LinkedIn, X, Facebook, or Instagram now, and give this post a thumbs up.

ExtraHope for Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code was founded in 2012 to address a growing gender gap in computer science: only 26% of computing jobs in the US are held by women, according to the 2022 Annual Report from Girls Who Code. After a decade of tireless effort, the organization has served over 580,000 girls, women, and non-binary individuals from around the globe and is on track to close the gender gap in entry-level tech jobs by 2030.

Girls Who Code has helped level the playing field in an industry that’s been difficult for women to break into through programs like Technical Interview Prep, which prepares students for the increasingly competitive interview process. Over half of the students served by Girls Who Code come from historically underrepresented groups in tech.

At ExtraHop, we believe diversity is absolutely essential to our success and to the success of cybersecurity practitioners everywhere. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to support Girls Who Code through our ExtraHope campaign again this year. Here are just a few things that a simple “like” on one of our posts might help fund:

  • The Clubs Fund, through which the facilitators of more than 500 community partners serving over 71,000 students can submit supply wishlists for their STEM-related clubs.
  • Summer programs, including a two-week Summer Immersion Program and a Self-Paced Program.
  • Virtual hiring summits, work prep and technical interview prep programs, and other support and tools for college students and those just launching their careers.

We believe Girls Who Code is on a vital mission to secure the future of the tech industry with a thriving talent pipeline. With your help, we can support Girls Who Code in 2024 and beyond as the organization strives to reach 1 million students, and in the process, we can all give young women and girls dreaming of a promising career in cybersecurity a little bit of ExtraHope.
