Briana is a regional sales manager at ExtraHop. She joined the company to do inside sales in May 2009, jumped to the marketing team, and now lives back on the sales side of the house. We caught up with Briana to talk about life at ExtraHop, how things have changed over her 6.5 year tenure, and to cover the important stuff -- like Seahawks versus Sounders.
What brought you to ExtraHop?
I really wanted to work in a tech startup, and I honestly wasn't picky about what we did, as long as I could find a place, make an impact, and enjoy coming to work every day. I got so unbelievably lucky picking ExtraHop.
Windows, Mac, or Linux?
Mac. Forever and always.
Kirk, Picard, or Janeway?
Um, who? I have no idea.
Star Wars or Star Trek?
Star Wars. I'm definitely not geeky enough for Star Trek. I've never even seen it.
What keeps you at ExtraHop?
I've really gotten to follow my career dreams with ExtraHop. I started in inside sales, moved to marketing, and now am in the field selling, and the ability to grow in my own career as the company has grown - and continues to grow - has made it so I don't want to miss a single day of it.
Marvel or DC?
Both? I really don't think I have a favorite superhero or comic.
Bond or Bourne?
Bond. For sure. My cousin recently got us the 50 years of Bond set and I'm loving watching some of them for the first time.
Gadget you couldn't live without?
My phone. So sad.
First computer you ever owned?
An iMac (I think that's what it was called?). Back when they were fun colors. I think mine was blueberry and my sister's was tangerine. Or the other way around.
First mobile phone?
Some old Nokia brick. I was amazing at Snake, of course.
Skiing or snowboarding?
Skiing! I grew up skiing at Steven's Pass and still get annoyed at all of the snowboarders sitting at the top of every run clipping in.
Sci-Fi or Fantasy?
Fantasy, I guess. Although I do like some sci-fi too. But really neither. I'm more of a terrible romantic comedy kind of girl.
What do you want to be known for?
Oh gosh. Being someone who is fun to work with, who works hard, and who follows her dreams, I think.
Cats or dogs?
Dogs. I got a dog the day after we recorded the video in which I said I only had a cat, and life has gotten so much better. He's almost 5, a rescue, and loves being loved so much. It's the greatest.
Numbers or letters?
Letters. Of the snail mail variety, preferably.
Spicy or mild?
Spicy, 100%. Half of my summer garden each year is hot pepper plants - I can't get enough.
Seahawks or Sounders?
Seahawks, although I love the Sounders too. I grew up as a Seahawks fan, though, and am a Season Ticket Holder now, so they are 100% my Seattle team.
House Stark or House Lannister?
Stark, although I have a hard time picking sides in that darn show because no matter who I start to like, I know they'll get killed off shortly after and I'll have to find a new favorite.
FINAL QUESTION: How long have you been an ExtraHopper?
Since May 2009 - 6.5 years now!
