ExtraHop Takes Application Performance Management (APM) to the Cloud

July 11, 2011

Cloud computing is finally a reality in most IT organizations. Research shows a major shift from companies merely thinking of the cloud as a far-off ideology to actually implementing it (and successfully, too!). In fact, a survey released at GigaOM Structure last month suggested that we’ll see a 67 percent compound annual growth rate for cloud services over the next five years. ExtraHop Introduces Performance Monitoring for Memcached and AMF

June 14, 2011

Real-time insight into web-services application performance is still an elusive holy grail for Web Operations teams. Fortunately for these groups, ExtraHop is helping them to get a lot closer.

In response, more popular applications and websites, including Facebook, Gmail, and Twitter, have made SSL encryption standard. In heavily regulated industries such as healthcare and financial services, HIPAA compliance and other data-protection laws also contribute to this elevated use of SSL encryption. In fact, according to the seventh edition of Palo Alto Networks’ Application Usage and Risk Report, more than 40 percent of businesses’ applications now are encrypted by SSL.
